To all the Municipal Commissions, Offices, Bureaus, Holding (Group) Corporations, the Administrative Enterprises(Group), the District/County Labour & Social Security Bureaus, the Employing Units:
With the approval of the Municipal People’s Government, the Minimum Hourly Wage Rate in Shanghai Municipality is adjusted from RMB 5 yuan to RMB 5.5 yuan since July 1, 2004.
The social insurance contributions of the individual employees and their employers as per the laws and regulations are not included in the Minimum Hourly Wage Rate, and shall be paid by the employers in addition according to relevant laws and regulations.
